To Be Rescued

To Be Rescued

She waits and waits
for her rescuer.
For that perfect man
to come and save her.
But the men who come
and the same that go,
Aren't that perfect one
she's dreamed of though.

If only she knew
that her rescuer,
Doesn't exist in her life
or anyone else's either.
He is but an illusion
of who she needs to be.
She's her own saviour
if she could only see.

She waits and waits
for her rescuer.
For him to come to her
take her and save her.
But that day'll never come
he'll never come to help
never come to her aid.
She can only save herself.
