The Girl In The Castle Room
In a castle up on the
hill,
A girl sits by the
window sill,
Waiting for her beau,
To take her and go.
She picks the petals
from a daffodil,
And dreams of a life
more tranquil,
From head to toe,
She aches to know.
Where is her man?
Her saviour, her
knight?
She doesn't
understand,
She is an oversight.
For all her life, in
this room she's been,
The forgotten
daughter of King and Queen.
But on she waits,
Watching the locked
gates.
The outside world she
has never seen,
But that hasn't
stopped her dream,
The hope she creates,
On and on she waits.
For her man.
Her saviour, her
knight.
She doesn't
understand,
They will never
unite.
The hope that she
creates,
On and on and on she
waits.
For her man.
Her saviour, knight,
whoever.
She doesn't
understand,
It'll be like this
forever.
